How to thicken skin on my forearms?

I have been using topical steroid creams off and on for awhile as prescribed by my doctor for para psoriasis. I have now stopped for the past several weeks, but as a result, the skin, especially on my forearms, has thinned considerably. I bruise so easily with unsightly purplish reddish bruises that take a week of more to go away. I want to find something, anything, that will make my skin thicker to avoid bruising. I have heard copper peptide creams are good?

Unfortunately the answer is no. The steroid creams work, but their side-effects include thing of the skin, as well as making that particular area more susceptible to psoriasis again.
