Is the condition temporary?

I have a red rash on the head of my penis that has been there for a few days. I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend recently, but I know we're both clean, and I read something on a yeast causing something like that, I also read that it could be psoriasis or balanitis (balanitis sounds much worse than my condition). Oh, and I realized I wear the same brand of underwear from the beginning, and I also developed a rash on my ass, so maybe the fabric? It really is a mild rash and it's not the look that bothers me, but the itch! It really is a little reduced itching and sex, I think I should wait or go to the doctor, has anyone had this? Is this only temporary?
