How effective is methotrexate for psoriasis?

I was diagnosed with psoriasis about 5 years ago. I tried every treatment creams to phototherapy treatments with organic products. I have recently been prescribed methotrexate and I wondered how this would work for my psoriasis. With summer coming up I want to go back in shorts and tank tops.

I have had psoriasis 25 years (last five severe). I also have psoriatic / rheumatoid arthritis bad. My rheumotologist prescribed in combination with methotrexate Enbrel. i have been taking it for about two years. It has done wonders for my arthritis such, so I told myself, this is how people easily back normal, there were. Before that I suffered such pain every day. I have not, however, notice a change in psoriasis. Have you tried tanning beds. You must have. Or at least your doctor has told you about it. I had a number of dermatologists since I was diagnosed and they tell me all the same. The sun (tanning bed) is one of the best treatments for psoriasis (must kill dermatologists recommend tanning). By far My greatest success has been tanning, the sun or artificial. If your legs are troubled region, do not be afraid to shave. I was for a long period where my legs started to cover. Finally, I said, the devil's afraid to cut me, I was ashamed to walk around with hairy legs. Shaving also worked wonders and did not hurt at all. As long as you use a good / more expensive disposable razor. Stay with methotrexate. I did some research of my own on it and I guess it works for many people, but you should ask your doctor about using Enbrel or Humira in combination with it. If your doctor prescribes you Enbrel or Humira too, have the auto-injectors – it is quick and painless.
