Psoriasis scare is there anyway this could be something else?

I have a few blotchy red marks on my elbows with flakey skin thats randomly come up. I do lean on them a lot and iv never had psoriasis trouble before. I’m 18 now and its randomly come up, im quite worried about it but, is there a chance it could just be wear and tear? or could it be alcohol/cigarette induced psoriasis (which iv had a lot of lately) and if thats the case and i change my lifestyle would it still be the recurring type? Information would be appreciated, is there any way it could just be nothing. Its red marks on both elbows with flaky skin on it.

I know you’re not gonna like this answer, but it sure sounds as if you have a mild case of psoriasis. The gold standard of care for mild psoriasis is with steroid creams/ointments, and usually of the prescription strength. However, there are either over the counter hydrocortisone salves you can try, or over the counter tar preparations that can also be tried.
